Just full scope Part P and register with a scheme provider.

I'm not Part P mate, but you will have a better chance being an approved contractor thru NICEIC for the local authorities and landlords who rent properties out.

You would need the 2391 to join Napit(where you may carry out PIRs etc) ,but not required for NIC domestic installer but may be required for aproved contractor, though not esential
However, you would have to have up to 5 jobs from domestic ,industrial and commercial for aproved,so if the intention is domestic installation then it would be easy to go for NIC domestic installer where the entry criteria is much reduced

There would be little benefit from being aproved contractor if domestic installation was the goal
They do not permit domestic installers to do pirs,so if that was the intention then Aproved contractor or Napit would be best, although NIC are the name on landlords and letting agent lips if you require the work generation

Cheers - I'm only looking at domestic because hopefully it would good to get local jobs when i'm quiet!!!!Also am i allowed to test my own work on commercial installs and issue a ticket??????????

You can issue certificates for domestic, commercial or industrial without joining any club

It only requires joining if the customer stipulates that they require the installer to be a part of one

There is nothing whatsoever stopping anybody issuing certificates for any electrical installation
Everything depends on the wishes of the customer onlky

hi des
just to add, if you are not registered you will have to notify labc on most domestic jobs (but not all) and the costs incurred in doing this will mean your quotes arent as competitive as someone who is registered. well worth considering ;)
