Got a call to a farm last week saying that some lights and sockets were not working and this is what i found. I told him I would have to change the CU and he give me the go ahead. On removing the fuses I found that everyone of them had copper wire instead of fuse wire. Farmers are always the most dangerous

Ah farm electrics! Don't you just love the way farmers bang on about shutting farm gates, but seem to love open accessible electrics. Last month I went to a farm job, inspection and test, farmer Giles greeted me with "Hi Sparks, I've shut all the farm gates, so our installations total safe, the electrics are out of reach, so just sign the paper work". He's a long standing friend so he was just joking with me ... but with some others this seems to be their reality.
