So I've just refused my first job!

They wanted to change a couple of things on their new extension, I get there

there's no cover on the meter - (I didn't say the seal was missing - the cover screws and seal are all gone!)

the cooker(range) is on the kitchen ring

the new garage is on wired fuses fitted in the garage!

Cant understand why in situations like this, they never want it putting right.

There's no reason why the garage or any other circuit shouldnt use rewirable S/E fuses....they comply with bs7671 long as cables are de-rated by a factor of 0.725.Of course you would not expect them on a recent install though...What is the range?....if it's gas or oil an FCU off the ring would be sufficient.
Regarding the meter I would suggest they contact their supplier ASAP.
