hi my name is kieron, ive just gained my domestic installer niceic. having probs with certs,do i need seperate form for smokes alarms, smoke alarm ciucuit already there just replaced heads. and part of the form asks for characteristics of primary supply overcurrent protective devices, is this the main fuse at supply.
It sure is, if domestic it will be a 60, 80 or 100 amp BS1361 type IIb, it normally says it on the fuse holder...

If you are a registered domestic installer you will use the certs FHP3 Certificate of Design. Installation and Comissioning of a Fire Detection and Alarm System of Grade B, C, D, E or F in a Dwelling.
If you are fresh on inspection and testing or more particularly 'form filling' then may I advise that you obtain some literature to help you. The NIC inparticular have a good couple of books, regarding the fire alrms, I have their 'Guide to Completing Specialized Certificates & Reports'. This is very informative.
It may also interest you to know that there are colleges around and contractors (like myself) that visit other electricians onsite to aid and direct them if they feel a little out of depth with inspection and testing.
thanx for your help, im ok with the testing side just not filled out nic dcp4 forms befor, worked for someone who did the paperwork will take your advice and get those books you mentioned
why do they make it so hard to get access to blank forms?
