Chaps,

My old man (bless him) has dissapeared to Africa to paint a school. He asked me to watch over his company while he was away. Well the jammy sod has failed to tell me about his annual NIC inspection which is Thursday. I found this out this evening!!

Anyways, I'm not pannicking (I think it's kinda deliberate). I'm always confident with these assessments, but I normally prepare a little sooner :p

So, point of my thread is this:

I can't find the reference data I normally use that tells me what the guy is going to want to review (things like a list of completed works, proof of tester accuracy checks etc etc).
I've just checked out the NIC's website and since they've changed it a couple of months ago I have never been able to find anything on there.
Does anyone have a little pdf file on their comp? or can they find it on the web?

w.

Are you a registered QS for the company with the NIC??

If not the assessment wont go ahead as technically you wont be "someone responsible for the technical standard of the electrical work" for your Dads company.

Or at least that how it used to be.

Yeah I am.

It went ok, need to provide evidence of our health and saftey policy and history of certs. I had them all on my iphone and ipad for him to look at but he wanted them in his hand.

So the result is that I have to email them the proof of evidence:confused:, so they will get them in electronic format anyway..

Quite annoying though, I took him to a pub that we did (as it was local) and he was only interested in the three circuits for the flat above, not the whole gaffe as it would be beyond our domestic installers scope and more importantly not on his checklist.

TBH it's becoming a waste of my time, as this company is only about 20% of my work. We've setup our own training centre and consultation company and that is the direction we are focussing on.
