Hi all had a phone call today with a cancellation so our pre assessment is next Friday. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks on advance

No I said it should be straight forward.my business partners done it before but I've not.

Yeah and I have had an annual inspection at approved status level for 16 years in a row, if your paperwork is up together and you have 3-4 good jobs with a variety of different types of work to show him you will be fine, they love the paperwork, ensure all your certificates are in order and I write the jobs and certificate numbers next to them on paper to show him as well, any unused certs need to be available and don't be worried on the day, act confident, you will be fine.

If you're partner has already been through the system, why are you asking on here? Something isn't right.

I have asked him and he's given me his interpretation on it. It was genuine question as he is one person and I was asking on a forum where multiple people have been through it each with probably a different answer. I would like to be prepared as best I can. So to assume something is not right is a bit offside I reckon.

...i've heard some accessors will sack off seeing your work and leave with no questions asked if you drop some sexual innuendos and stroke their leg...try that pare

Our pre assessment went very well. Don't know why I was concerned. Got a cancellation for our full visit too. Roll on 5th of feb.

I would say don't get too stressed about it as long as you've done a good job of the paperwork and the actual installations then all will be well ,if not then thats a different story

I had my first visit for approved contractor (been a dreaded DI for a few years) last year, no preassessment they phoned me up on a Tuesday evening a couple of weeks before the due date asking whether I would be interested in having a visit the following morning as they had an Engineer at a loose end for the morning ,after a cancellation . So I thought about it for an hour and rang back saying yes I'd do it as long as I wouldn't be charged if a revisit was needed, they agreed .

So I just spent a couple of hours when I got home making sure the certs, text books and other documents etc were all in order, made sure I had batteries for the test gear and rang 10 customers to arrange a potential visit as I thought he'd pick them at random filled out a sheet with their contact details so I could ring them with no fuss, just doing these few things seemed to impress him enough (might have been the chocolate hobnobs always a good idea) that I was prepared for him, answered his questions and asked him a few, even disagreed on a couple of minor things no big deal at all as long as your competent and prepared you'll have no problems ,it was easier than I thought it would be.

Hi again everyone

Our assessment was successful just waiting for our certificate and enrolment number. Happy days. Our area engineer said it could take up to 2 weeks for all things to come through.
