night time units increased

Hi, had a call from a customer yesterday saying their off peak time units had increased significantly since their PV system was installed, and first thing in the morning before inverter wakes up the mains meter is flashing . The system is a 1.5kw panels on 'A' frames on flat roof. SMA SB1700 inverter. AC side through subboard into tails block. Any ideas why would be appreciated.

Can't see why the off peak would increase - from what to what? Compared to when? You need to ask all these sorts of questions.
Main meter always flashes doesn't it!

Not purchased something extra at the same time they had the PV system installed and only use it at night time then not thought about it?

Get them to isolate the inverter at night and compare

Are they using an Owl or similar type of consumption meter to determine this. Mine shows 30 - 40W when the inverter is actually using less than 1W.
