CU change today, ex council house....

4 30A radials, 2.5 twin
1 30A kitchen Ring main,3 Interconnected legs at the CU. (couldnt find the connection, suspect kitchen fitter's effort)
Water bond disconnected.(kitchen fitter)
2 legs of ring left open on top of kitchen cupboard, Taped up with duct tape.(kitchen fitter)
faulty 2 wayswitch to landing.

Topped off when Finally energised, had my bosch site radio on, never heard anything like it..... AC interference almost like an old room stat making/breaking, both RCD'd on the board making all kinds of noises..

Anyway

Had one of the old MEM 100A switches after the meter, probably 20/25 years old, and was arcing away, SILENTLY. I get the feeling they dont like to be opened or closed after so long...
