No cpc on lighting circuits

Advice please
installing a in line bathroom fan in a house ,their was no cpc on the lighting circuits ,I told owner I could install fan but couldn't connect to power due to no cpc
advice?

Why don't you make sure all fittings are class 2, install RCD or RCBO and label the cu as required. Or Earth the circuit lol.

Best way really. Use a humidistat or pull cord operated fan, rather than one that switches with the light.

As a sub contractor you are the one sussing out the job. The contractor would have done visual only, and if he has any business sense would have a clause in the quote for unforseen issues. The contractor is relying on you and trusting you to conform to current regs as it is their companys reputation on the line.
So tell the contractor and get his views on how to proceed
