Hi guys
Today i went to look at a communal light to test, and found that the light was wired from the dno fuse carrier with a 2.5mm twin and earth to the light with no isolation but the 6amp fuse in the carrier, my question is, is this ok as i cant find anything in the bgb that states otherwise or does it need a 2 way cu installing so that the circuit is protected by mcb. Look forward to the positive feed back

Several area's here if as you suggest its tapped straight into the DNO's fuse..

How is it metered
The installation should have 1 point of isolation to isolate all consumer circuits
How is the neutral isolated
Where is this 6amp fuse and carrier? are they housed in an enclosure i.e. inner insulated cores not exposed

Well just to start off with...

This is what an electrician asked me today just wanted to see what every1 elses reaction was to such a silly question. ;)

Your an Electrician; IF! an electrician asked you his i would have expected your opening post to reflect so with your input on his lack of competence ....this 'said' electrician would do well to get back into his study books and get onsite experience with a well experienced competent electrician for a few years and until then he should drop his Electrician title until deemed worthy of it.
