On a site which use air source heat pumps for all the heating and HW. They have underfloor heating throughout and mixers. They have a "Specialist" connecting all cylinders, hot water tank, expansion valve etc to the unit outside. Now its a Sweedish System installed and the ufh firms bloke has been on the course to certify and connect up the system. I first fixed the system and he is doing the panel part- its a smart plc system. Now, he has NO official quals not even... plumbing!!!

I turned up this morning to find his tank strewn across the floor as when he filled it with 80 liters of water his 1" screw fixing to plaster gave up. He then leaves the panel cover off LIVE and goes home, everything wonky and looks like a child/ blindman has put it up. The wiring centre looks like a Electrical Trainee best attempt and he is is on ÂŁÂŁÂŁ because apparently he is a "Professional"- he isn't even scam registered. Beggars belief, am i being pedantic or should i be worried?

Will are you trying to steal my Pedant title? lol

recently had something similar on 11 houses where each house has an ASHP. We put the 1st fix in but the firm doing the ASHP's done the 2nd fix on all the heating wiring. What they done was atrocious really. nothing sleeved including CPC's, everything was as pished as a fart. gaping holes in enclosures, flexes cable tied to hot pipes, kopex just shoved in to enclosures with no adaptors and so on. I stated on the EIC's along the lines of that the heating control wiring wasn't part of our install.

Its frustrating as the kits top notch and its a very clever system. They just get a joey to install it, im going to state it on my eic as well because its horrendously rough. Im glad you have come across similar Lee.

What made it worse the bloke could talk a good game and the site manager thought he was some kind of god. I fired off a few emails stating that I wouldn't even connect the abortion to the load side of our fused spurs/rotary isolators. It wasn't sour grapes on our behalf either as we had included the control wiring 1st/2nd fix in our price but they took it upon themselves to do it be we still charged the same amount :icon12:

Luckily the Steptoe and son on this site have lowered their high estimations by the shear atrocity hanging from the wall. Its a joke these clowns are in a job, the kit cost ÂŁ10000 and they have dogged it in. Quids in their mate.

Give over moanin'....you got a good deal there :wink5:

Might have made a few quid extra but my impression of Lee is he's like me and probably most of us here, so would've walked away from the job feeling a bit upset that some clown has ruined a nice installation of his.

.........:wink5:.....not noticed?
