A 4 Pole 30 ma RCD, supplying a 4 pin socket, the circuit has no neutral, RCD tests fine phase to earth and works as should apart from the functional test button not working due to no neutral or resistor. Thoughts on a link from earth terminal to neutral incoming terminal to enable the functional test button to work.

Have you looked at the manufacturers instructions?
they may well show a solution to the problem.

although your fix using the earth to the incoming N would work, I don’t think it is a suitable work around.

it may be that a different rcd is required, one designed to work without a N

Hi James, yea sure I looked at the instructions I also got in touch with Kubler technical via messenger but I still have a timer that's doing nowt. I was hoping a member of the forum had used one of these timers before and could offer help. I posted a link to the instructions in the original question if you would like to have a look and offer a solution.
Terminal 1 and 2 for L and N (polarity sensitive?) and is the 24v power supply needed for the timer to run?

As for the RCD while its not my fix, I be interested if you could expand on why you don’t think it is a suitable work around and a link to different rcd would be very appreciated.
Thanks.
