Hmmm....are you getting a signal on a meter with coax to the aerial direct, ie not via a coax socket?
Is this a new-build house?
A few years ago I attended a brand new house in an estate and there were coax sockets in virtually every room, but no signal at any of them. Taking the cover plate off the one in the kitchen showed what appeared to be a proper termination, but further dismantling showed there was about a foot of cable connected and stuffed up the cavity...and that was that. Every socket the same. The site foreman said he had had some complaints about this already and had been trying to contact the aerial installers but, guess what? No reply. Apparently they were on ÂŁ100 per house and basically just did enough to make it look ok, but not actually connect anything. To be fair, they did leave an aerial in the loft, with about six feet of cable attached, dangling down behind a joist, but of course it wasn't attached to anything. So, they did the quick "job done, where's my money?" and scarpered...and saved quite a bit in cable costs too.
This was in Scotland too...
