Has anyone actually managed to attend the OLCI electric boiler installation and maintenance course? It was sold to me as part of my Domestic Installer course, but so far has not been forthcoming. I have phoned and emailed them several times over I've-lost-count-of-how-many months, and they keep saying they will contact me with a date I can take the course, but so far they've only been able to provide dates for London and Devon, too far to go from Aberdeen for a one day course. They did say when I booked the course that I could take all components at Livingston, so it's not really acceptable for them to expect me to travel all that way.

If anyone has taken the course (or indeed provided it; I know OLCI sponsor and participate in this forum), I'd also be interested to know what the course covers - surely installing an electric boiler is just the same as a shower or anything else in terms of the electrics, and if it covers the plumbing side that would take more than a day as it's a whole other trade?

Hi Selfmade,

Alana here from OLCI Construction Training.

I would like to discuss your situation in more detail and answer any questions you may have about the course, a member of our Student Services team will be in touch with you today.

If you require any further help after speaking to one of our team please call me on 0800 316 8100. Alternatively, you can email me on [email protected] with a phone number and suitable time to call you back.

Best wishes,

Alana Fox

Thanks Alana for your reply. I can confirm I have been contacted by Fasil Anwar of OLCI who has offered me a date at Livingston for the course. That particular date will not be easy for me but I'm sure we can sort something out.

A wee bit of feedback - I appreciate your speedy response to my post here, but I do think it would be better for all concerned if you responded satisfactorily to people's calls and emails before they have to go public! I know at least one other person had to post here before getting their concerns addressed. I myself have certainly been very satisfied with the courses I have attended so far, but perhaps communications with head office could be better.

Thanks again

Sam
