Twice I've visited this site this evening, and twice I was asked to prove I'm not a robot, with some moronic picture tiles to identify first food items, and later pickup trucks. If this continues, I won't bother visiting again - I only continued the second time so as to post my annoyance.

...It's becoming self-aware...it'll launch a series of nasty posts,against itself...and once again,i'll be going back,in the past,to a moderators,armed and naked...:bucktooth:

I've been getting this for the last few weeks, hopefully it will just go away as 'yes' it is frustrating! Perhaps Dan could make it disappear?

We've had some problems that required certain measures to prevent the site being flooded with malicious traffic. Unfortunately without these measures the forum wouldn't be online and accessible. As soon as the attacks subside the extra security measures will be removed. http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk...um-been-down-today-25-05-a-2.html#post1189002

I recall that thread from 25/May, and at that time, I was getting the occasional pause, "Checking ..." something or other, which was acceptable. Today is the first day I've been suspected of being a robot, and have to click picture tiles - I have a rule that I don't use sites like this, so I really hope it goes away, as I'll miss the forum.

The defences automatically vary according to the volume of traffic being thrown at the server in an attempt to bring it down so sometimes the security measures won't be activated and other times more stringent checks are required to be running. There's some info here on how it works. As I said, unfortunately it can't be avoided so if it's annoying to the point of being unbearable I can only suggest you try the forum again later.

I doubt very much this would be a problem caused by the forum. Check your event logs or maybe --->Reliability Monitor is the Best Windows Troubleshooting Tool You Aren?t Using

It looks like you are correct . It switched off again last night and would not come back on.
It has obviously started this morning , but the clock has set to zero and the date to 2012.

I think it may be overheating, as it was very hot ambient yesterday ,and it was on most of the day.
If it does it again today I will have a look into it .

Thank you for your help , and the link . :)

"I'm not a robot" sounds exactly like something a robot might say.

(Sorry, I have Fallout 4 on the brain at the moment - on there there are characters called synths (Synthetics) that think they are humans)

Computers do funny things when they cannot breathe properly. You'd be surprised how many I've brought back from the dead by sticking a can of compressed air in the vents.

I think that may be it.
I have a lot of time on my hands at present , and I am using it a lot. It is getting on too, so I know how it feels lol.

Thanks for the reply , I appreciate it. :)

Exactly. I've seen terminator 1 and 2 so I'd like to think I know a thing or 2 about them.

We definitely need a more fool proof test to catch out these robots than just asking them are they a robot.

They are too clever for that. Maybe ask them what there mission is, if they mention anything about Sarah Connor then block them.

You have too much spare time if you are playing comp games. Seen some of the gameplay on youtube, it looks a good game. You a console or pc person?
