Was lowering a sewing machine head into position a tricky job and due to access really only one man can do it.... right hand on base plate to give me good position to wrap left arm around to slower lower the 30kg sewing head into position ..... didn't notice oil had leaked from above onto the head so halfway through lowering the lot slipped through my arm and it dropped approx 12" onto the base plate ...... OH!!!! and my little finger was acting as a cushion......

It hit it side on so hard it burst open in 3 places and the pin was understandably extreme ....

Day 2 - after losing a good pint off blood its swelled up to the same size as my thumb and i now possesa funny kink in it .... im hoping thats swelling .....now these things happen and hindsight would have been good and it rare with me too im usually very aware ..... what really scares me the most is walking around the pubs this weekend and holding my pint with my little finger stuck out its something im dreading, im sure you'll understand the long term damage that can come with been caught holding your pint with yer little finger pointing out so need opinions lads is it worth the risk!!!!:shame:

firstly, commiserations on the injury, but to get to the serious matter in hand ( pun intended) hold your pint in the other hand.

That seems the simple answer but beer as a side effect and once it settles in its the remembering to hold it in the opposite hand im sure ill slip up at some point .... im really just not sure was wondering if anyone else would admit to been caught out as such and what are the available help groups out their ?

As Tel says, unless you need to use it, ie open the toilet door (wait for someone else to go and follow them, but make sure its not the same person every time), hold a ciggie and pint at the same time (stagger the beer with ciggie), keep it in your pocket.

I dread to ask ... but these been very wise words i wonder to myself that you have been in the same bladder routine as a stranger before ....2nd time you laugh with a jovial comment but after the 3rd coincidence it gets very awkward!

Or tell them you got it caught in the needle threader ------------------ and you both got..........................................

Put on a sparkly top, stick on a bit of foundation, flick your lashes out and drink wine. No one will give a monkeys then if you're holding it with your pinky out :D

Ouch.
But it is good that you protected the sewing machine head from any damage with your little finger, good dedication.

Always remember that pain is temporary but beer is forever!

this is about the same weight as a sewing head. get some practice in. homer.jpeg

Use a big long straw, but not the ones with spirals in them.
Or one of them Benidorm hats with bottles left and right and a straw down.
