Hi, like so many here, I am a newbie going through the motions for training (recently got 2382 and going onto 2392) for domestics .. obviously it seems , it wont be for the money..hmmm

Anyway, I have a qualtified plumber friend who with a customer that has an electric heater on a fused spur in the bathroom. They want the heater removed as they are having central heating put in. I do not know at this point if an RCD is fitted or where the fused spur box is in relation to zone2 / outside zones.

My thoughts at this point is if an RCD is fitted and it is outside zones then the heater can be removed, the wiring between the heater and fused spur box is taken out leaving the fused spur live.

Do you know if this work is notifiable?

Alternativily, if the system is NOT on an RCD , will this work still be notifiable?

Thanks in advance

if you are removing equiptment its NOT a problem if its RCD or not RCD!! you dont need to tell any body you removed a item just make sure any cables that will be defunct are isolated and correctly terminated or better still removed as far back to the source of power (FCU) just pop the fuse out, dewire the equiptment and replce front cover..!
