Notifiable????

Gents,

Im installing a 6inch extractor fan in a kitchen, ducted externally, fed off the ring main and fused down via a spur. is this " notifiable work ".

Also while i am on here is it acceptable to run trunking on the white wall panels of a commercial kitchen if i silicone the egdes to stop grease/bacteria build up??. i did notice a piece of galv conduit on one of the other walls and was wondering which method, if any, is best.

its in a old folks home. Kitchen is on its own fuse board.
