R5 END, BED 690K, TEL 1 , (but I can't afford it), PAT 3L (on the corner shop owners car).

I followed M12 poo on a Little bright yellow mr2 just down the road a few years ago , i did like that one !

I saw an oldish motor (probably worth about a grand) fitted with a reg plate marked 'H1'

It seemed bizarre that a car of that value would have a reg plate worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Mind you, it was being driven by a little ol' lady, who most likely had the plate from new lol

Have seen that a few times now on right bangers , why ?
Surely they would be better to get a safer car with the money !

A bit off track but would you ever employ a trade with a personal plate on their motor .
We have got a local bathroom fitter that has them on all of his motors , like H2O BOG and good ones like that .
You just know you are going to get spanked when his bill comes in !!!!

On a separate note , the best one i ever saw was not a plate but a set of window cleaning ladders and all the gear to go with it on the back seat with three blokes in a brand spanky new top speck jaguar xjs at a set of traffic lights in Wattford about 6 years ago !
Now that one not just made my day it made my week , still laugh when i think of that one turning up at some bomb site in Wattford to do their windows !!!!

recently saw SF10NAS One of the best was in paisley on a Countach DAV1D outside MnCos HQ others have been B161ANS = B1G 1ANS using blach screw covers

I know what you mean, although some plates can be quite affordable i.e. A year that matches the vehicle but with letters DPE to match your company for example.

I would be quite interested to know if some older plates will actually apreciate in value over time, and in that case might be worth investing in.

Banks are not paying good rates for savers at the moment, and I guess it would be more difficult to steal something that has been registered rather than kept under the matress?

When Hardy Hansons were still going in Kimberly Nottinghamshire, their drays had the numbers ALE 1 to ALE 9 and ALE11 to ALE 15

There was a Morris Traveller motoring around Buxton with ALE 10, the driver flicking Vee’s at all the drays. He would not part with it!
