I have been reading a few of the threads on here regarding the level 3 NVQ and am interested in doing it. My only worries are that as a self employed sole trader I have been subbing work for a while which has been all domestic stuff recently. Am I going to struggle fulfilling the necessary criteria for the course? If so how can i get round it? Also I'm not sure if I know anyone with the NVQ already to sign off/witness my work. Has anyone else had similar experience's or any advice? Thanks.

You can do a Level 3 NVQ, and there are optional units which will fit your situation. I currently have about 9 apprentices working solely in domestic on NVQ L3 Diploma's.

Ask your local college, but i can tell you it isn't cheap. As for evidence, if you sign up for it, the college will allocate you to someone like me. It will be up to your assessor to deal with the evidence you provide etc, and guide you through the process but it is fairly easy so dont worry about it.

Cheers.............Howard

hi there, im in the same possition as a sole trader (scummy subby) i did ask my local college at the time but they were trying to charge over 2 grand, i mannaged to get on with someone else without trying to advertise em quickstep i found the cheapest and they dont seem to do site visits they work under an evidance system it seems but i havent got that far with it yet best of luck.
