Hi Everyone

I am looking for some assistance with my NVQ 2357-99 experienced workers portfolio in regards to Job write ups. In all honesty I don't know where to start I've uploaded evidence for (Install 1), now the assessor has asked for a Job write up for submitted evidence.

Unfortunately course assessor is not the best and seems to fob everything off there not interested, and only got limited time left to complete.

Does anyone have any examples they are willing to share. I am just looking for a brief example so I know how to start.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Thanks the tutor is useless, this helps so I just write up on how I carried out the Job from start to finish.
You basically show the pictures of you doing it the right way start to finish - so you'll show everything from the before, the selection of materials, the setting up access, the PPE, the job, considerations, to the final install. The more you can show the more criteria you'll hit, for instance you could hit 'wiring singles' and 'consideration about health and safety' (or similar, i don't know the units) in one if you show both in one job.

Be blatant about it as well - 'Here i am wearing goggles, safety glasses, gloves, ear defenders, suitable workwear for the weather/the job at hand, hard hat, hi-vis, steel toe'd boots and i also checked the classification and condition of the access machinery before use, in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, to ensure it was both safe and that my licence covered my use of the vehicle.' Even if you can see it from the pics they want you to tell them as if they've never heard or seen such a thing before.

Failing that there are companies who'll do the write up for you as long as you do the pictures.

In reality you could do the whole portfolio off one start to finish job if it was large enough. Have you had your criteria through of what you've got to hit?

You can indeed use the same image to cover several areas. With EAL, you simply link back to the page on which it was initially posted and provide the appropriate write up. As mentioned above, it is imperative that you are shown wearing PPE appropriate to each situation.

Think this is the same with C&G where you can use same image covering several areas, it's still a nightmare though.

I found it quite easy once i got into it (for another NVQ i did) - I had my matrix with 'KSB's' that needed to be hit, so it might say 'Can install PVC PVC TWIN & CPC clipped direct and in trunking'. You'd then get several jobs, and if you have hit the requirements just go onto the main document and label the work pictures with the KSB number, and then on your matrix label the page number the images are found on.

It’s not really. Just write about what you’re doing in the pictures and how you do it. Include all details with glands etc, it’s basically just talking about what you do on a daily basis. Don’t panic, it’s actually very simple.
