Hi there, I'm in need of some help please. I started my Nvq December 2012 and was told I had 2 years to complete. I paid 850 for the course and now my lecturer says I need to pay another 250 pound because it's been 2 academic years and it's 250 pound per term apparently. Anyone shed some light? Also the guy I done my first year of my Nvq with I no longer work for, he turned into a right bell*** and we parted ways, I now need supplementary evidence to complete it but I don't want to go to him and give him the satisfaction of saying no. Could anyone help me out please? Much appreciated.

You're going to need to assess what evidence you need in order to complete the 2356 and either:

a) Go and make a mend with your old employer for the sake of obtaining your 2356;
b) Offer your services to a local electrician, free of charge if need be to gain the experience to complete your portfolio.

I don't see there being a problem with the college asking for a further ÂŁ250 if you've gone over the 2 year deadline though?

Well it's not two full years until December so to speak. Don't know of that makes a difference? I'm currently in work and I've done all my write ups. Thing I'm gonna struggle on is a test certificate with my signature on. How would I get that?

Could you not complete some testing with the firm you are with now ? When I did my NVQ I was not expected to sign a test sheet as I was not the company QS. My on site assessor came out to site and witnessed me completing a full test sequence including the filling in of all relevant documents. The evidence sheet was then signed by him and entered as my evidence. Can your college not do this with you ?

I'd advise you to speak to your finance department at college and let them know you're near completion and you hope not to stay past December.

Regarding the signature, it's a long time ago but I don't remember having to submit a form with my own signature on within my portfolio, just a copy of the EIC or EICR relating to the module you are writing up supported with a few photos?

If you're in work at the moment then surely the chance of completing one of the above will present itself within the next month or two. And then issue your certificate and rewrite that job? Or perhaps have a word with your supervisor and ask them to watch over you testing and take some pictures that you can use as evidence along with the signed certificate.
