I'm looking for a training provider that I can do my NVQ Level 3 through, does anyone know any online companies that are cheap (under ÂŁ650) as I have found one for that price but the cheaper the better.

Cheers

At those sort of prices, i would be asking what you are getting for your money. It seems cheap, so make sure you get all the help, advice, and guidance that you will need as you progress. The NVQ process is simple and straightforward if you know what your are doing, but a downright pig if you dont have the help and support it requires.

Hi, I have emailed XS training but there reply was please send payment.....

What is involved with doing an nvq online ? Do you get am assessor coming out to you to check your work or is it just a case of paying the ÂŁ700 plus and uploading the details of each job you have completed ?

I only ask that because it would make it a lot easier for me to do that because I don't work in the trade but could get some weekend work to upload.

tbh you should at least be working in the trade to even be considered for an nvq, at the end of the day it is supposed to prove you are competent. Even though the NVQ is easy to fiddle so doesent prove a great deal but satisfys the JIB..

Are you sure about that??

Don't think XS Training would even have entertained you for the NVQ 3 Electrical as you are not even working in the industry....

Hi Sparks, Yes - very sure....but what I meant by that was the email I got sounded much like a company who just wanted your money and wouldnt be on hand to help....

BUT saying that they phoned me about 4:30pm and they were very good in giving advice for me, so a thumbs up :smug:

Basically he said if I was working in the trade for 2 or more years I could then do a Nvq without them sending an assessor down to check the work but if I am not in the trade then I would need to be working along side a spark to start doing the Nvq.

Also if I register in the next few weeks I would have 3 years to complete it if I register after that I would have to do the new 2565? course which starts in September which would run along side my 2330.

He also said I should definitely carry on with the course as with the level 2 + 3 I would be a lot more employable than just having the level 2.

Just to add, this is the email they sent after he phoned me earlier.

Thanks for the time given during our telephone conversation today. As

discussed, we would advise that you continue your studies and gain your

2330 level 3 whilst gaining some practical experience within the industry.

The practical experience will be invaluable as this will allow you to

apply for employment in the industry and will give you the confidence

required to start your NVQ at a later date. You will also need to gain

your AM2 at some point as discussed and will probably have to undertake

just one module (environmental technology) of the 2357 eventually.

We are sorry that we were unable to help you on this occasion and we wish

you all the success in your career as an electrician.

Kind Regards
