Desperate Help if anyone can it would be much appreciated :)
some of the questions i am stuck on in my JTL NVQ:
1) Whatbest practices apply to methods of testing, their interrelationship andsequence?
2) Howwould the characteristics of different types of cabling and components impacton the test?
3) What is the correct sequence for tests locating faults?
4) What are the advantages and limitations of fault diagnosis techniques?

Thanks Daz

You do need to read your notes and think a bit about them and give us a clue about where you are heading, just answering is not useful to you.

to reword the questions,
Why do you need to apply safety and quality approaches to testing and if you do not follow the stated sequence of tests what problems can occur, e.g. what parts of an installation may be missed on testing if the order is not followed correctly?
Cables have different characteristics such as current carrying capacity and resistance, they may different methods of protection and earthing all of which may mean differing results are expected or different approaches need to be taken when testing, try and work out what some of these are.
Fault finding is a complex process and should be undertaken logically, working outward from the identified fault so that the fault can be identified correctly,e expand on this.
Fault diagnosis can be erroneous if the information you have is not complete so further assumptions may need to be made or original assumptions changed but working logically will allow the fault to be found.

Think Richard nailed it here.... been spoon fed answers may get your name on a cert' but means you don't learn the theory behind the question and this you may end up struggling in the real world to do your job correctly and safely and also to hold a job down.

You are been asked these questions because you already have been taught them if you can't answer them then review your coursework if you still can't answer them then maybe you need to stop treating college like a school and actually read up on your coursework until you do understand it. This is usually done as home study after college or homework... don't put the effort in then don't expect to reap any rewards.

PS welcome to the forum... don't take offense its good advice i give ive seen so many apprentices get through by parrot fashion remembering the answers rather than understanding the answers... trust me they don't last long in the big world.
