Hi,

I am currently doing my c&g 2330 level 3 and hopefully will complete it sometime in june. Now I was hoping to become JIB registered at some point, but after emailing them to see what they require to become an approved electrician, they said 2330 levels 2 & 3, 2391 and NVQ level 3.

The 2391 I might do as it can be whacked out in three months one evening a week. Now I do want my NVQ 3 as well, but going to college for another year or more after 3 years isn't looking too appealing. I really wanna get out there and start earning serious money.

Do I need to go college for the NVQ??? I thought it was work assessed on site only??? Are there alternative ways of getting it????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

i am in the same boat mate i completed my 2330 two yrs ago nd i still cant find the work to do my NVQ3, you do have to go to college but only do to your log book off site experience, ya can do it quicker if u also do the AM2

i myself have been working continuously since i started my 2330, but aint getting payed what i feel im worth. so i will def look into how i can do the nvq without going to college. I think three years college is more then enough ;-)

ezzzekiel. can i ask who you would recommend/is the cheapest to do it with online, that would be great if they didn't carry out on site visits, and a few weeks would be perfect. Do i need to complete my 2330 level 3 first though?

no you can run nvq3 alongside 2330, mine was done through college but all online and a site visit and was free, but there are plenty of online providers delta etc if you search the forum you will find lots of recomended ones.

yes i am aware of this. but to be honest i might leave it for now, struggling to pay for my 2330 level 3 as it is, c&g are just trying to get more money out of people. i did enquire with delta. they want ÂŁ700 if you already have your 2330 level 3, or ÂŁ957 if you haven't. Ableskills said i couldn't even do the 2356 without the level 3, and they want about ÂŁ1250 in total.

i'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment with all the shake ups with the courses. so really need to decide whether i should get on the case before they stop doing it as it is now.

Yeah need your 2330 lv3 to do that course fee increases are down to the colleges as c&g prices are the same but the colleges used to get part funding from the government but labour put a stop to that just before they left

well according to delta i can start and complete my nvq before i finish my 2330 level 3, no onsite visits, all evidence uploaded online. But they can only send off my evidence and get my nvq when i get my level 3 certificate. think i might go with them, i have until december to decide. sounds the best option to me, as once i enrol before january 2011, i will still have two years from this date to complete the nvq, should i come across any problems with my 2330 etc etc.
