I have been asked to install 3 strip lights 600mm and a window mounted extractor to a "public toilet" within a church building. As well as a circuit for two inline water heaters for two basins.

Could anyone advise me on whether I can control both lighting and an extractor fan off one occupancy sensor which I would mount on a false ceiling within the room.

Any advice much appreciated.

I've done this before in domestic bathrooms and it works fine. Couple of things to remember:
1) You need to have an isolator before the PIR as it's an electronic device (otherwise you've no means of isolating the rest of the circuit)
2) Consider the switched load of the device - Danlers ones I *think* are rated at 6A, for example. If your switching load is bigger than this just use the PIR to switch a contactor instead. You might want to do this regardless as you also need to check whether the device is suitable for switching fluorescent/inductive loads, what with is being a discrete component.

Cheers Dave, not come across those but they sound useful!

Not quite, isolation will be adequately provided at the DB.

The fan will need an easily accessible means of switching off however, so as long as it has no timer over run, you can fit one with an integral switch.

Agreed in the strictest sense, but it's a bit of a pain to have to make the whole circuit go dark just to change a bulb!
