Hi,

Hopefully this is a simple question for someone. Have worked in a couple of flats recently, where the board is split with three main switches, one for the peak supply, one for the night storage heaters, and one for the off peak supply to the immersion, any ideas why this is? Is there a different tarrif for hot water , or as someone told me, does the landlords supply power the off peak immersion?

Many thanks

Kevin

Its called economy 7 during the day 1kW will cost say 10p at night 1kW will cost 3p normally kicks in around 1030pm and shuts down at about 0730. The whole house goes on to the cheaper rate which is why a lot of people also do their washing at night.

Hope that helps

Chris
