Off peak

Is there a way with the new digital meters to turn the off peak supply on that I can test the storage heaters I have just installed without going back there in the middle of the night ?? !!

I remember an old colleague of mine doing it on a job a few years back with an analogue meter, but never come across it with a digital.

p.s. the meter is one of the pre pay top up with a key type if thats any help

Temporarily wire the storage heaters to a plug and plug in to a permanent socket, test what live tests you need and then return to the hard wired off peak arrangement. So long as power comes on at night as planned you will be OK.

I don't know for sure, but I doubt that it's possible.

In a similar situation, I've just fitted a temporary link from a breaker on the 24h board to the main switch on the off peak board for testing purposes.

Edit: As he says ^^^^^^. Whatever's the easiest way to get the off peak board powered up.

I just temporarily power the off peak board from the 24 hour board just use a bit of 6mm from a breaker I then just test one heater at a time so not to overload the temp supply
