Hello All,

I have won a contract for installing motion sensors in to an office building.

I have to carry out all the works during office hours and I am unable to isolate the supply of the necessary circuits at the consumer unit (there are individual isolators to isolate sections of circuits at points through the offices). Due to this, I will be issuing MWC's for all work carried out but will only be testing the section of the circuit I have /will install.

Realistically, I can only carry out R1+R2 tests and will note the reasons why on the cert.

Will this be sufficient to cover my back should there be issues with other sections of the circuit when this installation has a periodic carried out, which is due in 6 months time?

Any advice is always helpful.

Thanks.

your problem is that your R!+R2 readings should be for the whole circuit from the DB to the end of line. just taking readings from the individual isolators is no good. you will however be able to take Zs readings without isolating at the DB. you could possibly put the R1+R2 down as a limitation. also, are these isolators able to be locked off? some pratt might switch them on while you are working.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
