Hi guys,

Just a quick bit of info if you could, I am currently working on a office building with a raised floor (the type with metal and wood tiles) I have got to install floor boxes in various positions and am intending to use T&E.

Do I need to have additional mechanical protection on these cables or is it ok to starp them to the concete floor below?

Thanks

on our site the floor boxes come off a 63a busbar.each box is fed from the track in a metallic kopex from track to box,so i would say yes.

Not saying its right but i dont see why you need to run it in anything at all.

Not really much different from running them under a 'normal' floor.

Use tray !

It'll look a bag of ****e T/E left loose under the floor (if I remember I'll take a pick of a place thats due a rewire just like this), then the alarm bt & cctv boys will come in & drape their cables across your LV cables, because the always take the shortest route & never use the tray you put in.

As alarm installations go this is definitely at the higher end, given they didn't route cables in front of the bath panel or across the ceilng below.
