I'm making some flash cards for revision and I'm doing a flash card on the safe isolation procedure.

can you tell me if this is correct

1. Seek permission to isolate and carry out work
2. locate and identify known sources of supply
3. Identify means of isolation
4. Isolate, remove fuse/lock off isolation switch or circuit breaker
5. Secure isolation
6. Fit warning notice
7. Selector approved voltage indicator with leads compliant to gs38
8. Verify voltage indicator with known supply or proving unit
9. Test between all lines, all L-L, all L-N, all L-E, all N-E
10. Retest voltage indicator with known supply or proving unit

thanks

If the means of isolation is not suitable for disconnecting under load, then switch off the load(s) (between 3 and 4).

Here's Elecsa's freely downloadable pocket guide to isolation. There's a tonne more pocket guides (33 I think) you can download covering various topics.
