Hi Guys,
Hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction?
I completed my BOSIET, MIST, OGUK last year and have been applying to agencys and direct to offshore companies but am having no joy.

I was looking to get off as a spark but wouldnt mind going off as roustie/deck crew etc to get some valuable experience and work my way up.

I have signed up with Oil Careers and keeping an eye out - is it just perseverance? Or is there more to it?

Any advice much appreciated!!

Its just a nightmare to try and get in. Ive since started with expro doing well testing....nothing like what i was doing before but its offshore and will get me some experience..hopefully its a foot in though, all the best with your search.

Well lads, any of you have any luck yet?

I'm thinking of booking CompEX & offshore courses soon. From what I've read on this forum I'll probably need onshore oil & gas experience before getting offshore.

Any ideas on where to look for onshore experience?

Onshore experience makes it much easier to get offshore.

I agree. That's why I'm looking for information on how to go about getting a job as an electrician onshore in the oil & gas industry?

I've read that the onshore sector has a shortage in this area, but I can't seem to find vacancies. Any idea where I should look?

Cheers.
