Just seen the highlights of 2nd half
I have been mouthing off in my local for ages about you English continually ignoring the most prolific goal scorer you have

I will be keeping my gob shut in future after seeing the open goal he missed
Its just as well you have the guarenteed points off our lot to ease your passage

How can a country with so many gifted individuals turn out teams that struggle year after year to get the national side to turn it on

Perhaps there is a lack of passion as a team for representing your country

Des, Englands most consistant goal scorer is Peter Crouch, but he is NEVER gonna be the first name on a manager's sheet because he ain't seen as world class. Now as you and regular posters will now, I'm a rugby man BUT I do SADLY also follow footy - althought, generally NOT the conning, rip-off Premier league. However, I digress, the problem with the English national team at the moment is the fact that they are lacking a world class couple of forwards and a decent defence. If you look at the England team traditional set up - they've always had a decent defence and forwards - indeed it has always been 'midfield' where the England team has been weak. So to me, as a 'dicker' - the England team is now too strong in midfield and lacking elsewhere. Hence as a youth German team showed us.
Thats my two cents mate, I'd also like to add that to be honest with you; minor sh*** games like todays' joke of a game, are about as appealing to me as a Liebore politician.
Sorry mate, but I just can't get excited about a bunch of overpaid prima donnas' kicking a ball about; I'd be more up for it if the players were choosen at random from the fans. I know that this is gonna **** off a lot of boys but thats my personal point of view.

I believe its the Fa fault for hiring mediocre managers and also the managers

for NOT MOTIVATING the players.

I thought Terry Venables was the best I have seen, the players respected him

and hence turned it on at Euro 96 Gazzas goal against the scots Stuart Pearces

fee kick against Spain etc etc . They got rid of him because of dodgy dealings

they need someone to inspire them not Graham Taylor< Sven erikson , Steve

Maclaren now cappello totally uninspiring and they always drip out the stats

unbeaten in 30 matches but look at the opponents .

I would hate for Harry to leave Spurs but look at what he did with pretty much

the same players from relegation to champion league WHY ? because players

respect him. The Fa need to grow some ...... Hoddle was criminally underused

Robson only played Gazza because of tabloid pressure etc etc we always play it


safe middle of the road then wonder why we draw against switzerland all those

ego;s need to be managed in the right way . Not sacking Terry then reinstating

How do you square up Kevin Keegans lack of success in his time, if its the managers who lack the tools to motivate
(Brian Clough never given the reigns was a terrible mistake)

Whatever the reasons,they dont rate on the world stage as highly as they probably could


England v Brasil in the world cup was a game the whole soccer world would relish at one time,if there was an equivelant game on nowadays,it would be a shock if they reached the levels of Brasil and the like as a team, which is a shame really, because they should be up there with the best of them

Keegan done the business on the field , YEt I don't believe he really cut it as a

manager he quit too many times and he is/ was a whiner. It will come in

cycles

The whole package Top manager and a top team from top to bottom.

Few years ago it was France winning everything Before that Italy and

Germany. Although saying all that The Germans whether they have a

weakened team or not always give a good turn out and never give in.

With England you sort of know 20 mins to go the heads go down and thats it
