Hi,

I am gonna fit a new ccu in my cousins house, so I went round there to do the useual pre tests before I started. Noticed the incomer was a tn-s in a cast iron box. The seals were missing, so I took a look inside and there was a 100A fuse bolted at both ends in the line conductor. Now I never, ever, ever pull the fuse out :nono: and I wasnt gonna start with this one that was bolted on. So I rang my local DNO, I told them what the incomer was and they said they knew what I was talking about and gave me a number of someone who would come out and fit a 100A isolator. So I rang them and paid ÂŁ107 and they would come out today (Fri). Anyway this guy came out and took one look at it and said, "I cant touch that, you need to have a new black box fitted, Ill register it now for you". Then he left. So my questions are: how long does it take for them to come out and change the incomer? and, will they fit a 100A switch aswell? I ask this because I have just paid for my Elesca assessment and I am using this cu change for it. I know that Elesca take around 4 weeks to come out but how long will it take the other lot to come out and change the incomer? And will they still charge me for the isolator, as they are changing the incomer for free.

Cheers

Jay
