Morning gents, recently bought a house which I'm currently renovating, there is an old water mains and an old lead supple cable coming through together under my doorstep. The water mains has been leaking, possibly for donkeys years as all the outter insulation has corroded away and is actually down to the centre core of the cable. WPD came out, took a hurried look at it and said "it doesn't look to bad". Apparently if I want it renewed it is chargeable. Not had much expericence on lead cables, anybody know exactly how dangerous this is, and also if WPD are obliged to repair this free of charge (been as its their side of the cut out after all) , any help would be great thanks. Lee
