does anyone know what on-site guide or guidence notes works best for commercial applications. Im in afghanistan trying to inspect some facilities in accordance with the BS7671.

Supreme foods?? What are you trying to inspect? Testing commercial domestic and industrial is the same. Only real difference is your PSCC, IR and Ze testing if it is a 3 phase installation.

no not supreme, there food sucks, anyway I work for Fluor, we just hire a bunch of great UK electricians, however I am US. the problem with the on-site guide is, it is only for insallations up to 100A. We have installations up to 800A and above running off of generators, no utilities here. The installations for the most part have been designed by engieers that got their degees from a box of cracker jacks. Either in pakistan, india, or some other third world dump and they havent got a clue. We even had to tell them to bring in an Earth conductor.

Area's of section 7 of BS 7671 may apply to you here, depending on your actual situation.

Well good luck out there. I was going there to Camp Bastion in May but Saudi come up and thought a better safer deal lol. That was with Supreme

Are you working to the BS 7671-2008 or the American NEC. If your working to BS 7671 then the On-Site guide only deiferentiates on frequency and Voltages It works to 50hz and 230 single phase and 230/400 single/3 phase. So would cover the load side.

I have to confess not done a great deal of generator work but in my limited knowledge do know that they can obtain some wierd notes. I hope someone else on here can help you.
