one conductor off one cable and another conductor off another cable

well really as the title suggests?
went to a job today there are 2 four core armours in, both have a spare conductor on them,
could i use a conductor off one armour as a neutral and one off the other for my line?
plan on using one of the existing cpc's as this new circuits cpc.
they both go back to the same bank of switches.

Absolutely not as it will create eddy currents.

To avoid eddy currents, conductors of an ac circuit should not be installed in separate steel conduits. 521.5.2

Single core armoured cables must not be used in an a.c. circuit. 521.5.2

Not a specific reg that i can find for doing what you say but it would be the same principal as 1st one here.
