Just wondering if people had any favourite one-liners they'd like to share which work well with customers. I'll start:

When asked to explain the difference between DC and AC, I tell them to think of DC as "Dangerous Current" and that's why they need a fully qualified electrician to do the job for them. Sometimes it's accompanied by a more technical explanation depending on the actual customer.

Anyone else?

when explaining why we might prefer to mount the inverter in the garage instead of the loft in some situations I find a 'well it should significantly increase the lifespan of the inverter due to the lower air temperature in summer' does the trick most of the time.

When my throat is as dry as a desert!

What comes after S in the alphabet? T - yes please, milk no sugar.

ha ha

Ha ha lots of them,

Whats the little plastic ball thingy golfers use to starFFA round off with? T, oh yes please......

Do you want to put the kettle on before I turn the power off?

Now the systems running it wouldn't cost anything to put the kettle on!

And so on.........

My roofer always used to shout down off the scaffold (back in the days when we had work) "Have you got the power off?"

"No. Why?"

"Can't hear the kettle"
