Only just walked in , what a bloody day i have been run ragged all day, then i get a call at 2pm from one of my customer's saying they have a problem with their large grinder.
Apparently they had sent the work head away to be repaired! new bearings and a general overhauland. To save ringing me to disconnect the Motor, the Machine operator took it upon himself to disconnect and reconnect the motor, everthing was going great until he switched it on at the panel.
I get there start checking the circuit, take off the terminal cover to find he had wired 3 phases across the start point[/B totally knackering the 2.2kw 3 phase inverter. Plantpot!
so new inverter set all parameters job done, why do people who don't know what they are doing attempt these things.
Anyway just got home, so looks like being a takeaway.

But i don't think the operator will be enjoying a takeaway, due to the fact that as i was packing my tool's away the MD walked in having just drove from Bradford to sheffield when he heard what had happened, also they are 2 weeks behind with an order for Rolls Royce that can only be done on that machine oops!

Hate days like that! You're looking forward to getting home at a reasonable time and then that call comes! Lol. At least you got it sorted.
More to the point.... Indian or Chinese?

And guess who's earned a stack of brownie points and is going to get called for all future work at this manufacturing plant!! Well worth the late takeaway!!

Though an Indian would have been my very last choice, a Chinese every time for me...lol!!

Why am I not surprised by that?

But as a matter of interest, are there any Indian takeaways in China - or come to think of it, any Chinese takeaways in India???

I'm going to stop now - I'm giving myself a headache.

Well I usually do all their work anywy, but this time i think the operator was trying to win some points by saying he could do it. In his own words ( how hard can it be ) but like i said to him nothing is hard if you know what your doing.

although of course in china i presume they dont call them chinese takeaways just takeaways! . I can't imagine a chinese person saying to another shall we have a chinese, i would guess he would just say shall we have some food.

Real Chinese food and the Chinese we refer to in Europe and the States etc, is actually nothing like the same, in fact i'm not that keen on most of the stuff they do over here. The food here is spicy hot which i'm not keen on, so you Indian food lovers will probably love the food here...lol!!

Oh and yes they have indian restaurants here along with virtually every other culture based restaurant, may have a Chinese bias on it though!! lol!! I have a few decent restaurants that we go to now that know what i like and don't like and are happy to cater to my likes.

One thing about the Chinese, they eat all day long, they eat little and often. Food and eating out, is cheap here, which is just as well as their lives seem to revolve around eating. Most of the traditional greetings will have some reference to food/eating.. lol!!

,

I'm not living in China as such, i'm on a work contract!! Although i'm seriously looking into the possibility of doing so, the advantages more than outweigh the few disadvantages. My wife is Chinese but not from the area i'm working in at the moment, she comes from Changsha, the city where my last project in China was located...

One of those days?

I married just before I came out of my time. I warned the wife to be that I would be on shifts so don’t expect to see me when I’m supposed to finish.
First week was OK, home on time every day. Second week, the only time she saw me was in bed snoring my head off. And on it went for 20 years, she never saw me on Christmas day for 14 years.

OK it’s one of those days, remember, it’s not just you it affects.

Note to the girls:
Don’t marry an electrician!
