Hi all

Just wondering if anyone could throw some light...

Im currently a qualified electrician and ive just applied for a job with Openreach...i wasnt expecting a reply to tell the truth but low and behold ive got an interview!!!!!....so what im asking is do yous think an electrician would be capable of carrying out this job...

why not? also hasthe advantage that mistakes aren't usually dangerous. go for it.

It is specialised work, but they'll be looking for someone with the nouse and experience in something similar. A qualified spark, for example, should have already proved that he has the skills necessary to learn the job and do it well.

I worked for a subcontractor to open reach for a few years and the most difficult bit is fault finding but becomes easier if you can be methodical!

You are over qualified for the job so worry no longer.

I wouldn't like to think so. I've told this story before but when I applied for a Virgin Media installar job they were not bothered one bit about previous experience in a similar role! More bothered about if you can pass their role playing interview load of s***!

But you'll be trained to do what ever you do.
