Opti Trac Global Peak on Sunny Tripower

I was looking for the setting to switch on Opti Trac Global Peak on a Sunny Tripower 8000TL and could not find it just now.

Am I being blind? Where is it in the installer menu with Sunny Explorer?

Or is it permanently on anyway so you do not have to select it like the smaller inverters.

If its the same as a 4000tl then you go Settings/Dc Side/Edit/Optitrac global peak / activted/ drop down box
Is it the same??

I looked there and could not see anything that said Optitrac or similar

And the answer from SMA is:

" Unfortunalty(sic), the Optitrac Global Peak is not currently available on the Tripowers, they currently come with the Optitrac MPP tracking.

Your SMA service team."

I'll have to go away and read the specs to see whether I should be worried.

And just to close, I did ask when new firmware might be available and got:

"Thank you for contacting the SMA Service Line.
Unfortunately we have no information about new FW with OptiTrac Global Peak at the moment.
If you have further questions, please contact us again."

So do not hold your breath.
