Orange glow lamps, fittings. How do you tell

Im after a light fitting that will give of a nice orange/amber glow. Now i know that sons are amber ish colour but are they all this colour as they dont state on the box, or adverts on the net. Can anyone give a link to a fitting that will give of an orange glow , or at least a lamp to go in a fitting. Thanks HQI ro son thanks.

not necisarilly a sox lamp , like this Buy Crompton Floodlight, Galaxy - Minor, SON, SON-E, 1 x 70W, w/ Photocell - GA70SPEC , or hqi/hid as long as its below 100 watt and yellow/amber ish

In order to specify a lamp one would need to know the type of fitting you have and the anticipated use and light intensity required.

That said an orange lamp will have a "colour temperature" of about 1800K to 2200K (this is from orange to yellow orange).
This is probably your best indicator of colour output.

Standard Sox lamps will generally be orange, there are goldline lamps that emulate older lamps and come in a "soft gold" colour.
Sox is the most energy efficient and 70W would be good for floodlighting reasonable areas, goldline lamps are for domestic rooms.
