Hi,

This morning, just going to walk down the stairs with my son, hes 2 on Monday by the way, anyway, I was just about to hold his hand to help him when he slipped, i went to grab in and in the process, not only did he literally cartwheel from top to bottom, oh my god it looked bad, and whacked his head at the bottom and very shaken up, I also fell down the stairs from the top by trying to grab him, i managed to slip some how. Fortunately I didn't go head over heels, but did sodding hurt myself, rather bruised and as the day has gone on everything appears to hurt, a few scrapes, arm hurts, shoulder hurts, most of my back hurts.

The mrs was in the lounge and was screaming thinking she was going to find a dead body at the bottom.

We are both ok though. Just thought id share my days trivia with you all.

Well ill see how I feel in the morning, im sure ill be ok...

The boy is ok, he seems his usual self, I think I was more likely to do damage to myself than him as children have a tendency to bounce more so.

Ill keep an eye out!

Hi,

Just thought id share my days trivia with you all.
Another bit of trivia for you in return.
And I don't mean to trivialise your experience.
I have three children. Naturally, you take the bumps, bruises, knocks an cuts seriously. Easy, as a caring parent, to beat yourself up over it. "What would, could, should I have done?" But they are amazingly resilient. It happens. And they are now all grown adults. They survived.

Tomorrow we will collect two little grand girls. And have them for a week or so. Aged 2.5 and six. They are very pretty, a joy and give us precious moments.
You see it a little differently. They belong to someone else. The care aspect takes on a different perspective. When it comes to handing them back you'd like them to be in no worse a condition than that when you were given the privilege and trust to be given custody of them.

I think we are making a decent fist of it. They want to come back and the elder has been impatiently counting down the days.

Back to the stairs thing. And an event from the past that might amuse.
Mrs B has an office upstairs and the elder of the two girls likes to play on her computer.
The younger thought the elder was upstairs and wanted to go up but, at the time, was not quite 18 months.

Not a good idea I thought so I prevented her. She was not best pleased, sat on the floor, and started to sob.
I called her elder sister, who was not actually upstairs.
"Miss M, can you come and help your little sister?"
She was there in an instant, sat down beside the younger, gave her a cuddle, restored peace. And farted. Loud and smelly.
Mrs B "Was that you Miss M?"
"No - she did it."

Moments....
