Hi i already started one thread but wrote it wrong so here i go again.
I have been asked to do an outdoor socket. There is already one about 10metres away. and there is also a socket inside the house within 2metres distance. The house might not have RCD protection. The socket is only going to be put there for christmas lights and for easier use of garden tools such as lawnmower.

I have a main tester and socket tester. But would also be able to get my hands on a Megger and RCD and earth loop tester.

Any advice on doing this job would be greatly appreciated. I am an apprentice so still learning and trying to earn a little extra.

Many Thanks:)

well you will need rcd protection, wether from a rcd fcu or rcd socket also check main bonding is in place (wouldnt worry about its size just it is intact)

if spuring from a socket drill on a slight downward angle to stop water getting in, and if running outside use swa glanded at a ip rated box
