Inside the garage there is a CU fed from the house on the unprotected side of the 17th edition board. Its fed by a 6mm T&E to a junction bok in a utility room, from there its a 6mm armoured that dissapears under the patio and reappears inside the garage to the CU.
The CU is a 2 way mcb with a 6a breaker for the light and a 16a breaker for a radial consisteing of 3 double sockets, The board is protected by a 30ma RDC.
To add a weatherproof socket outside of the garage on a small wall about 5 feet away, would the best pratice be to spur off of one of the sockets to a switched FCU then come out of that with some 2.5mm (or would 4mm be better) armoured clipped down the outside of the garage to the wall to fix the outdoor socket. The socket would be used to power a small pump and filter combo for a inflatable swimming pool so will only be used for about 4 days of our glorious summer each year.
Does this sound OK, is the FCU overdoing it?
