Involved in preparing a report on a system installed 3 years ago due to the fact the roof is leaking. You would have to see it to believe it. (not installed by me I should add).

Output is also pretty poor and a mile off that stated on the MCS reg document.

Such a long time ago am struggling to remember which output estimation method we were using then. Can anyone confirm it was SAP 2009?

I can't backward extrapolate the quoted figure to anything in Appendix M (PV) or the data in Appendix H (solar) of SAP 2009.

SAP 2012 didn't come in until 2013 by which time we were also on the MCS/ECA PV guide. Figure quoted doesn't equate to either of these also.

Help appreciated

SAP 2009.

I saw some companies back then were doing very odd things with the SAP figures, I think one was multiplying by 1.2 for no apparent reason.

Which company was it btw? Solar Energy Solutions by any chance?

Thanks for the info guys

Can't name company at this stage as they are still trading. However name Gavin mentioned is very very similar. Have offices in Glasgow and Sandbatch. PV comes into it somewhere.

Went back to check another aspect of electrical installation today. There is no final circuit protection, Live feed straight into top of 2 pole switch. AC switch in attic, so no means of switching at small DB and fuse box. No dual supply labels. Inverter tilted back from vertical so probably derating. AC cable unclipped in attic running under insulation.

Thats just the inside......

Just looked at their website - I'm sure one of those photos on the PV bit, is also a poster on here that was citing poor output. Also a ladder and no edge or fall protection ! And looks like insufficient brackets on that bottom rail.

Great advert on their own website of how NOT to do it...
