Hi guys I installed socket for a customer in a summer house. 4mm swa, 20A mcb on a 17th board so all RCD .She now wants me to connect up a heater/light but does mot want to use the sockets .Its a1.5kw heater with integral 35w light supplied with a 2.5mm 4 core flex (seperate lives for heat and light and shared neutral and earth).she wants to control individualy so was going to spur out of socket and run lives trough a 2 gang 20A outdoor single pole switch ,would this be ok IYO or would it be better to use 2 fcu,s but this would cause a problem as the neutral and earth are shared. Any thoughts ?

Can't see anything wrong with putting single pole switches in the lines, but might be worth a call to the manufacturers help line just to check :)

Thanks guys typically she seems to have mislayed the instructions i would have to open the unit up to check if there any internal fuses otuerwise it would be relying on the 20A mcb or I could run through one fcu and then through the 2 gang switch .what do you think

From an operational point of view the 2G switch is ideal, but personally I'm thinking the light would need fusing down somehow, unless of course the manufacturer says it's fine without.
The heater should be fine straight off the 20A MCB.

Yes I see what you mean but its a combined unit working from one flex so the light could just be similar to an oven light for example.
