Here we have a diagram of outside lights. The 2.5 cable is coming from the C/U to the light outside then onto the switch. It's on its own circuit with nothing else added.
Theres a separate socket on the other side of the wall which has 2 cables. One going the outside wall, the other towards the other light outside, although they aren't connected together to make a circuit yet.
If that cable where to be joined to the light, am I right in thinking that it'll make the other switch the main live point instead of the light.
Is best practice to connect it to a loop, running another cable from light to the other light and doing away with one of the cables that's going to the switch.
