Outside lighting for decking.

Ok folks. I have been asked to install some lights for new decking. Consists of two 230v fittings to substantial purpose built wooden fence and then a small section of LED strip on the underside of a step.
Easiest way I can think of at the moment is inside FCU off a a short radial utility room socket circuit that only feeds a washing machine. Circuit protected by 30mA RCD. Connected to 1.5 SWA to another JB under decking that will feed the two lights and LED transformer. Switch line to first JB routed through stud wall spare switch on triple gang if I can thread it.

or go for a remote control.

Like the idea of a remote control. Also thinking of future proofing re an outside socket. If that was done via an FCU and the lighting spurred off would best practice dictate fusing the lighting spur down again?. Having fun looking at wiska combi boxes at the mo. Half the trouble with this lark is knowing what kit to buy and where to source. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop:confused:

If you are coming off an FCU then I would not use SWA unless there is a specific need for that level of protection, as the earthing will be inconvenient, NYY-J should be suitable if it is running under decking or even waterproof flex if the runs is fully protected. You could start SWA at the JB if the run is then unprotected.
Remote control relays sounds like a good idea. 3A fusing to the lights might provide some level of discrimination.

Thanks for the response Richard. Your posts are the best!:D:D
I was considering running a short section of 2.5 T&E from the FCU which will be on the stuff wall at the back of the small utility room. This will drop down to a small cupboard where I'll use a wiska combi on the inside wall of the cupboard which boarders the outside. I would then bring the 1.5 SWA or NYY-J in from the outside to join the JB. The initial 2.5 to JB would give a later option for an outside socket feed.
