hi
was wondering what the best option would be with a property a family member owns, thay have an outside office/shed. the office is 800mm away fro the house c.u. from a 16a mcb in the cu (none rcd protected) they have a 2.5mm swa cable going to the office which is fed into a wylex 4way cu. The office has a rcd as the main incomer and then a 6a mcb for the lighting and a 16a mcb for the radial fedding three double sockets.
I was wondering is the 2.5mm supply cable big enough and if the set up is right for its purpose.
any comments would be very much appreciated.

firstly the house needs rcd protected as does the swa to the office. The 2.5 supply it is fine as long as you are not looking for any more than a 20amp supply. The wiring in the office sounds fine. What is the supply to the house earth arrangememt?

thanx for the reply.
the house has rcd protection the office just comes out one of the non protected ways. the house supply is tncs.
so if i move the supply from the house cu to a rcd protected way then they should be fine?
and would i need to supply a bigger earth to the office as it is using 1.5mm out the swa at the moment?
sorry to ask just want it correct for my uncle.
thanx again

Neither the house or the swa need rcd protection provided that it is not a TT system and installed before 17th edition.
